Blue Diamond in Praha

Blue Diamond, Praha

Blue Diamond, Praha ( Blue crystal)

Praha or Prague as the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic is known as, among other things is famous for Bohemian hand-cut/ machine made crystal. Crystals of myriad hues are available. The ones that caught my eye were in wine-red, deep-sea blue and bottle-green; Ha! Ha! I obviously love colors in life 😉

I chanced upon this beautiful blue heart-shaped crystal; I was reminded instantly of the 1997 blockbuster Hollywood hit, Titanic. Doesn’t ring a bell? Oh! don’t you remember the ‘Blue diamond’ in the movie? It was also referred to as ‘Heart-of-the-Ocean’. Most Titanic fans ( that includes me of course) would remember some memorable scenes in the movie surrounding the ‘Blue diamond’ !

So, if you happen to be in Praha, check out their Bohemian crystal; they are known for it.

If you happen to like any crystal ware which you think is impossible to carry back home with you, then most shop owners are willing to ship it to anywhere in the world ( with extra shipping charges! ) You never know you could also get your very own ‘Blue Diamond’

Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me… it brought me to you. And I’m thankful for that, Rose. I’m thankful. You must do me this honor. Promise me you’ll survive. That you won’t give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise.( Jack Dawson, Titanic)

Reminds one of the much oft quoted saying “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” Nicely penned memoirs, all 🙂
