The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Review

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a BIG-screen 3D or an IMAX watch for sure, for that’s when you get the maximum fun watching Spidey! Andrew Garfield looks cute without his trademark-latex- spidey costume. With the costume (which looks different from what one has seen in previous movies) he can and obviously does conquer the world and his woman’s heart, Emma Stone.

Watch it? Oh sure, if you like Spiderman and science fiction.

Take young kids along? Umm, I am not so sure, since they may find the violence a bit too much and the story a wee-bit complicated to understand. But, they can always munch popcorn in the scenes that are not palatable to them. But, please parents/ adults who accompany/take them, buy your toddlers and young kids a BIG tub please, so that they keep quiet obviously! It is so irritating when a kid starts talking/whimpering/ getting bored in the middle of an intense scene; not fair on other movie-watchers, is it?  After all, Spidey deserves complete attention; he is saving the world from evil after all!

Favorite scenes include Spidey saving the day at Times Square New York, the graduation speech and the declaration of love written on the Brooklyn Bridge. There, no more spoilers, go ahead and watch it and decide!

I was not sure whether to take my 4-year old to the film. he enjoyed his first film outing Rio 2 immensely but after reading your review I think he has to miss this one at the moment.

Hi Amrita, the movie unfortunately is violent, especially for young kids, no wonder it has got a U/A rating here ( which means parents take kids at their own discretion not totally small-kid friendly) But then each kid has an individual level to take in this sci-fi violence…Had I had a kid as young as 4..nope, I would not have taken him/her for this one right now.

Despite watching it on 3D , I found it disappointing

Ya? Actually I was constantly warned off by my teen that I am going to dislike it very much, so went with no expectations, surprisingly liked the movie. The violence was jarring, esp the electrocution scene, but I guess it adds drama to the movie. I liked the fact that Spidey’s lady-love was on equal footing..and not a mere pretty presence.

Nice review. May have not been the biggest fan of the first movie, but thankfully, this one was a bit better and actually had me excited to see where they could try and go with this story next.

Thank you for dropping by and sharing your views; much appreciate. Precisely the reason I liked it too! I am actually looking forward to the sequel just to know how the story develops further.
